Menehune Fish Pond
Menehune Fish Pond
Mangrove trees line the Huleia River and ancient Menehune Fish Pond. Legend has it the ancient Menehune built the wall to make the fish pond in one night, using rocks found only on the other side of the island. Hundreds of years later, the rock wall is still visible now that most of the mangrove has been removed. Check out Malama Huleia’s website for info on how they did this and ways to help!
Photo available in Acrylic, Aluminum, and Canvas.
Acrylic- photo is printed on a high grade metallic photo paper, then face mounted to 1/8 inch thick acrylic with an aluminum French cleat for mounting. Acrylic refracts light so the photo has the most depth and richest color, and also has inherent UV qualities.
Aluminum- photo printed directly to Chromoluxe aluminum in a dye sublimation process and also come with a French cleat hanging system. Aluminum prints are lighter weight than the acrylic, with bold clear colors.
Canvas- image printed to high quality canvas with mirrored edges and gallery wrapped on a 1.5” thick subframe with a sawtooth hanger. Canvas will have the most texture of these options.
